Had to kill the process from Task manager in order to quit the game. The weapon UI is still working but you can't bring up main menu or anything. A few days ago i finished TR 2013 and now i booted up Rise and i ended up in a game-breaking bug.Īs soon as Lara reaches the Syrian tomb during the scorpion scene where you have to kick a wall, after breaking the wall there's a black screen with audio playing in the background. I bought the TR bundle through steam with all DLC's during the Square Enix franchise sale a few months back and I recently got time to play through each game sequentially. Thanks to u/xdeltax97 for their suggestion. I guess there were few files in the bundle that might be missing/corrupted which got replaced and now everything is working fine. If you actually compare details to smaller scale, compare also every little 3D enviromental detail + character details and think they also had to make it work on PS4 and XBox at the time, also think of your fps and that it is supposed to run on the majority of computer specs but also runs better at NVidia and, even if *primitively, support ray tracing for NVidia cards that support it (*I did not say it was perfect neither that it dont bring fps down a lot on GPUs of the time). That is a lot more detail, also a lot more "NPCs" that can be shown on screen at the same timeĤ- Scenario is more complex, requiring more optimization at distance. That are some reasons:ġ- (if I remember it right) Lara model was not the same so they had to change herĢ- Shadow was meant to be more like the classics, to be a Tomb Raider, and seem like Crystal Dynamics just dont know wtf a Tomb Raider is anymoreģ- Optimization. Makes you wonder why SE chose Eidos instead of Crystal Dynamics. The older game impressed me way more than the newer one. It's too bad though considering RoTTR is almost 3 years older and yet the graphics of This is also why her hair is not using the same physics as Rise because it was just completely unnecessary. Shadow was made by a different company (much smaller studio and team) and they made the decision to not put so much focus on the quality of Lara.
